The Value

DeGangi Interior Decorating Course

The following guidelines are given to help prospective students understand the value and professional standards of the DeGangi Interior Decorating Course and Training:

Q: What does the DeGangi certification mean?

A: Generally, any certification course you take in a decorating related field means that you have satisfactorily completed a program in a specific discipline or skill area, such as interior decorating or color consultation, for example.  The DeGangi courses are recognized and respected throughout the decorating industry and the programs are also recognized by the Decorators Alliance of North America (DANA).  We the following DeGangi Interior Decorating Ceritfication Course:

*Completion of the 5-day interior decorating class offers you the DeGangi certificate verifying that you have completed the full course and have gained the skills needed to begin a career in Interior Decorating, plus a second certitication offered through the Decorators Alliance of North America (DANA).  Granting of this second certification requires an exam that you will take on the 5th day of class.  Once you pass the exam, you are approved by the Decorators Alliance of North America to use the designation, DANA Certified Professional Decorator (CPD).

Q: Why is this course better than another course of relatively the same price?:

A: Any course of study that you take is an investment of your time and your financial resources.  There are certain things that you should always look for no matter which program you sign up for.

1. Has the course or program you are interested in been built on sound instructional design principles, and have the personal goals and desired behavioral outcomes of the adult learner been factored into the course?

2. Has the course or program been designed and created by university degreed professional instructional designers

3. Is the course or program recognized by the Interior Decorating industry at large, and not by just one segment of the industry (e.g. redesign, staging, styling)?

4. Has the course or program been designed by professionals who have served in a variety of organizations and on a variety of professional teams in serveral (not just one) aspects of the interior design and decorating industries (for example: the window coverings industry, the color industry, the interior design industry, the furniture or flooring industries, etc.)?

5. Are the course or programs certified instructors seasoned designers and decorators with rich experience in full service decorating, and do the instructors have ample firsthand knowlege in the field of selling, marketing, and specifying a full line of custom offerings including color consultation, high end custom window treatments, custom bedding, upholstery, case goods, and installation and placement of those offerings?

All the DeGangi Interior Decorating Courses meet these professional standards.
